Assessment Process
The assessment process is designed to be thorough, structured, and transparent.
- Initial Enquiry: Information is gathered about the concerns and whether an assessment is appropriate.
- Information Gathering: Parents are asked to provide background information. Where appropriate, information may also be requested from school or other professionals.
- Clinical Assessment: This includes one or more appointments with the young person and their parents, focusing on developmental history, current presentation, and functional impact.
- Analysis and Formulation: All information is reviewed carefully, including any rating scales or reports.
- Feedback: Findings are discussed in detail, with time for questions and clarification.
- Written Report: A comprehensive report is provided, which can be shared with schools, GPs, or other professionals.
