Assessment Process

The assessment process is designed to be thorough, structured, and transparent.

  1. Initial Enquiry: Information is gathered about the concerns and whether an assessment is appropriate.
  2. Information Gathering: Parents are asked to provide background information. Where appropriate, information may also be requested from school or other professionals.
  3. Clinical Assessment: This includes one or more appointments with the young person and their parents, focusing on developmental history, current presentation, and functional impact.
  4. Analysis and Formulation: All information is reviewed carefully, including any rating scales or reports.
  5. Feedback: Findings are discussed in detail, with time for questions and clarification.
  6. Written Report: A comprehensive report is provided, which can be shared with schools, GPs, or other professionals.
